The term of the Mayor in office when this Charter is adopted continues until the beginning of the first odd-numbered year after adoption. Thereafter, at its first meeting of each odd-numbered year, the Council shall choose from its membership a Chairman, who shall be Mayor. The Mayor’s term of office shall be two years.
