The day care center located on the east side of Maywood Park at the corner of Northeast 102nd Avenue and Skidmore Street employs approximately nine people (full-time and part-time) from the local community. The Mt. Hood Community College, Maywood Park Campus located on the corner of Northeast 102nd Avenue and Prescott Street employs 28 people (full-time and part-time).

There are many businesses adjacent to Maywood Park on the north and northeast sides of the City that can serve the needs of the citizens.

The City of Maywood Park does not plan any annexations of buildable lands that could be used for commercial/industrial purposes because the area is fully developed. There is limited commercial activity, no industrial activity, and limited employment potential. The City of Maywood Park must rely on external employment centers and commercial centers to satisfy their economic needs.
