A. Chickens must be kept in an enclosed coop or run without supervision. Chickens may have access to rear yard only under the supervision of resident. The coop and run shall be located in the rear yard of the lot or parcel.

B. The coop and run must be kept in good repair, capable of being maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, free of vermin and obnoxious smells and substances.

C. Hanging feeders must be used and elevated to a minimum of 12 inches from the ground.

D. Chickens must be kept in a covered, enclosed coop between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

E. The coop shall have at least two square feet of floor space per grown chicken.

F. The coop and run and chickens therein shall not violate the nuisance code or disturb neighboring residents due to noise, odor, damage, or threats to public health.

G. The coop shall be located at least 25 feet from residential structures (detached garage not included) on a different lot or parcel.

H. The run shall be located at least three feet from all property lines. [Ord. 2012-1, 2012.]
