A. No person shall keep chickens under the provisions of this chapter without first obtaining a permit to keep chickens on their lot or parcel, and paying the permit fee prescribed.

B. The permit shall be valid for a two-year period with the permit period commencing on the first day of the month a permit is issued and ends on the first day of the same month two years later.

C. The permit may be revoked by the code enforcement officer for any violation of the provisions of this chapter.

D. Applications for a permit shall be made to the city on forms prescribed by the code enforcement officer. The application shall include a signed statement that the applicant will comply with the provisions of this chapter. The code enforcement officer shall issue a permit when application has been approved and payment of the required fee has been received. The permit shall be exhibited to a police or other officer of the city upon demand. [Ord. 2012-1, 2012.]
