(1) The existing commercial establishment located within an area the plan designated as non-commercial should be permitted to continue but not expand.

(2) Encourage retail and office development in commercially zoned areas that are commensurate with the retail sales and service needs of Maywood Park and surrounding area consumers.

(3) Encourage diversification of employment in the metropolitan area to meet the employment needs of the residents of Maywood Park.

(4) Encourage programs that allow private enterprise to generate as much employment opportunity as possible.

(5) Coordinate as appropriate with Multnomah County, City of Portland, and other agencies in determining the location and intensity of new employment and retail functions.

(6) Industrial activities will be discouraged in Maywood Park itself, and in the immediately surrounding area not zoned for such activities.
