A. A person commits the offense of unlawful parking if the person parks or permits to be parked on any public street or within the public right-of-way within the city:

1. A recreational vehicle, trailer, or other vehicle in excess of 8,000 pounds gross vehicle weight except for the immediate loading or unloading of persons or property; or

2. A vehicle in excess of seven feet in height except for the immediate loading or unloading of persons or property; or

3. A boat and/or boat trailer, off vehicle camper, vacation house trailer, tent trailer, or commercial trailer except for the immediate loading or unloading of persons or property.

B. Excepted from this section are vehicles parked while servicing residences (garbage collection, delivery, etc.) and vehicles displaying a special short-term city-issued parking permit. The special parking permit can be obtained by making application with the city recorder. Upon approval of the application by the council person in charge of streets, the special permit shall be issued without charge. The permit shall designate areas wherein it may be used and may contain such restrictions as are decreed necessary by the council person. For nonresident visitors, no special short-term parking permit issued under this section shall be required for a period of time less than five consecutive days per calendar year.

C. Penalties. A violation of this section is punishable by a fine not to exceed $100.00. [Ord. 30, 1989.]
