If a garage is provided, it shall meet the following siting requirements:

A. Minimize the visual impact of garages and parking from the street by:

1. Facing the garage door(s) on a separate street frontage from the front door of the primary structure; or

2. Setting back the side of the garage facing the street a minimum of five feet behind the front building line of the primary structure, when the garage doors are parallel to the same street frontage as the primary structure; or

3. Accessing the garage or parking area from the rear of the lot, where feasible.

B. Detached garages shall have the same roof pitch as the primary structure.

Deviation from these guidelines must be submitted to the city planning commission for review and approval. No part of this chapter shall be construed to supersede any zoning standards. [Ord. 2010-1, 2010.]
