In addition to state and county ordinances governing the use of firearms, the city of Maywood Park prohibits the carrying or discharge of all guns which fire by compressed air, spring pistons, CO₂, etc. (commonly referred to as BB guns, air rifles, pellet guns).

This chapter does not restrict use of said guns on owner’s property for target shooting, when discharged or fired in a manner which does not endanger neighbors or neighbors’ property. [Ord. 25, 1986.]
